Hoops in the Heartland announces new venues for next two tournaments

A women's basketball tournament that has been held in the Quad Cities since 2016 won't return until 2027.

The Missouri Valley Conference Hoops in the Heartland tournament announced it would rotate venues for the next three years. In a statement, a spokesperson said the reason for the change was to grow the "national brand through visibility in new communities."

Next year, it will be held in Evansville, Indiana. The following year's tournament will be held in Coralville, Iowa. Then in 2027, it will return to the Vibrant Arena at the MARK in Moline.

Visit Quad Cities says the tournament brings economic growth to the area, with the 2023 event alone generating $1.9 million.
