A Scott County judge has dismissed a lawsuit that could have changed the results of a local school board race.

Results from Pleasant Valley's sixth school district election in November showed Jameson Smith defeated Tracey Rivera, a write-in candidate, by six votes. So she asked for a recount, which ended in a tie.

During a re-canvass of votes, the Scott County Board of Supervisors voted 3 to 2 to reject the recount results.

In December, Rivera filed a petition asking a Scott County court to order the board to approve the recount findings. Then, the tie would've been broken by a drawing.

On Wednesday, Judge Mark Fowler granted a motion to dismiss the case.
