Around 10 pm, Davenport police and medics responded to the 1800 block of Grand Avenue, after someone reported the shooting.
Officers found a 16-year old girl with a gunshot injury. She was taken to a hospital, where she died.
Police say it does not appear to be a random act of violence, and they are investigating. Anyone with information can call the Davenport Police Department at 563-326-6125 or submit a tip anonymously.
