Mayor Mike Thoms nominated Kevin Maynard to fill the third ward seat, previously held by Judith Gilbert until last month.
Maynard is executive director of Quad City Arts in Rock Island. He has over 15 years of experience in arts management and philanthropy.
Maynard would represent the third ward until the term expires in April 2025.
Tonight, the Rock Island City Council will vote on the appointment.
