President and CEO of Visit Quad Cities, Dave Herrell, says American Queen Voyages brought over 2,000 tourists to the area in 2023 alone.
"Their presence, alongside all our river cruise partners, contributes significantly to enriching our regional destination with vibrant tourism experiences and exploration of the Mississippi River," said Herrell.
In a statement, the cruise line said it was unable to recover from financial losses during the pandemic.
American Queen Voyages has ceased all operations and all future cruises have been cancelled.
