The Dubuque Regional Airport received an airport infastructure grant from the US Department of Transportation.
Airport Director Todd Dalsing says that the 2.7 million dollars will go towards replacing 15,000 square yards of the airport's pavement. The area is used for private and business planes that fly through the airport.
"This section of apron is basically where the groundhandling is," Dalsing said.
"So, where the aircraft parks and stays there overnight. Or thats a location where we can unload passengers, put fuel on, catering, whatever the aircraft needs."
Dalsing says the construction is planned for this year. It will not affect public parking or commerical flight service.
