Chad Pregracke makes a presentation about the Bison Bridge at a past meeting.

A couple of years ago, Founder and President of Living Lands and Waters, Chad Pregracke, came up with the big idea to save the existing I-80 bridge as a state or national park. A small herd of bison would live near the Mississippi bridge, and travel over the river using the Iowa-bound side. The Illinois side would be used for bike lanes and other amenities.

Pregracke says Wednesday's I-80 bridge study meeting is a chance for Bison Bridge supporters to -- in his words -- "be vocal and let them know we want it."

More information is at bison bridge dot org where a notice at the top of the homepage leads to a summary, and a link to register for the virtual meeting.

The I-80 bridge project registration link is HERE. The meeting will start Wednesday, Nov. 15th, 2023 at 4:00 P.M.
