The boundaries of the 81st Iowa House District were redrawn after the 2010 census. Two local residents will be on the ballot in November.

First, Republican Luana Stoltenberg from Davenport wants to ensure residents continue to enjoy their freedoms.

Luana Stoltenberg has experience in business and has served on several nonprofit boards. If elected, she wants to improve public education in Iowa and ensure freedom of speech.

Stoltenberg would also work to support medical freedom related to mask and vaccine mandates.

She supports 2nd amendment rights, the 3.9% state flat tax, the elimination of the retirement tax, and would work to make Iowa more adoption-friendly.

And next, Stoltenberg's Democratic opponent in the 81st Iowa House District is Craig Cooper who is also from Davenport. He most recently worked for Genesis Health System and says Iowa needs to increase funding for public education to restore the state's schools to be the best in the country.

Cooper also wants to ensure access to abortion in the state. And he wants to work to make it easier for minority women to get health care in general.

Cooper would also like to reduce water pollution, address shortages in the workforce, and encourage teachers and health care workers to re-enter the workforce.
