Wolf Carbon Pipeline Public Meetings

proposed pipeline route in eastern Iowa

Public meetings are being held this week on a proposed pipeline stretching from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Decatur, Illinois.

An informational meeting for the Wolf Carbon Solutions project will be held Tuesday night in Clinton, and Wednesday at noon in Davenport.

Wolf wants to build a pipeline for the "capture, compression, and transportation of carbon dioxide" that's produced at ADM plants in Clinton and Cedar Rapids. The 350-mile pipeline would take the CO-2 to Decatur where it would be stored underground at ADM's sequestration site.

Capacity would be 12 million tons per year, and it would have enough additional capacity to offer the same service to other customers in the midwest.

The pipeline would cross the Mississippi River midway between the Quad Cities and Clinton.

Tuesday night's meeting in Clinton will begin at 6 pm at the Wild Rose Convention Center. Wednesday's meeting begins at noon at the RiverCenter in downtown Davenport.

The Iowa Utilities Board will hold a virtual public meeting on the proposal on September 19th at 6 pm.
