Music from the 1920s Era Will Celebrate Bix Beiderbecke & the QCs
During Bix weekend, a new festival will offer more than 12 hours of free, "nostalgic" music.
It's called, The Heights of the Era, and it'll be held in the Village of East Davenport.
Co-founder and organizer, Michelle Solis Russell, says the festival on Saturday will begin with barbershop quartets performing along the Bix 7 route. Then at 9:30 am the Nite Hawks will kick off the line-up of bands playing in Lindsay Park.
Solis-Russell says 54 musicians playing a variety of musical styles will honor Bix Beiderbecke throughout the day and night.
The free music will continue until 10:30 pm. More information is at TheHeightsoftheEra.com. And WVIK will broadcast live, all day.
