A former star quarterback for Monmouth College has signed a two-year contract with the New York Giants. It's Alex Tanney's first multi-year deal since graduating in 2011.
Tanney was first picked up by the Giants last summer, made the 53-man roster for the season, and eventually was listed as their number two quarterback, behind Eli Manning.
He's played for eight NFL teams in his pro career, but saw action in the regular season just once - in 2016 for the Tennessee Titans, during their final game he passed for 99 yards, completing 10 of 14 passes.
Tanney began his NFL career in Kansas City, with stops in Dallas, Cleveland, Tampa, Tennessee, Buffalo, and Indianapolis before landing with the Giants.
