John Deere Classic Tournament Preview

The John Deere Classic PGA tournament will get underway Thursday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis. 156 players will compete for 5.8 million dollars in prize money.

Defending champion, Bryson DeChambeau, feels very comfortable on the course.

"This place is super special to me. The Moline/Silvis/Quad Cities area is fantastic. TPC course is in great shape. Went out there and played it today, and I'm looking forward to a great time. Last year, I was super comfortable on the course, and this year, the game is in an even better spot. So I'm looking forward to an even better week."

Steve Stricker, champion of the 2009, 2010, and 2011 John Deere Classics

Steve Stricker, three-time winner and all-time earnings leader at TPC Deere Run, believes that at 51, he still has a lot to prove on the course.

"You're always trying to prove something out here, I feel like. I'm not supposed to be out here; I'm not supposed to be able to compete. But yet, deep down, I feel like I can."

Stricker is scheduled to tee off at 8 AM, along with Zach Johnson and Wesley Bryan.

DeChambeau won't start until 1 PM with Ryan Moore and Davis Love III.

The Golf Channel will provide coverage of the tournament, each afternoon, while CBS will broadcast during the final two rounds, Saturday and Sunday.
