Augustana Vikings Face First Semifinal of Division 3 Final Four

Augustana College

The Augustana College men's basketball team has made it to the Division 3 Final Four. And Friday in Salem, Virginia, the Vikings take on Babson in the first semi-final.
The Vikings made it to the Final Four, for the first time in 22 years, after defeating Mount Union and Marietta last weekend at Augustana's Carver Center. Dave Wrath, Assistant Athleticic Director, says more than 2,000 people showed up to each game.
He says the strong community support and media coverage helps the team excel- both on and off the court.
Other stops before Friday's game included a practice at the historic HinkleFieldhouse at Butler University in Indianapolis and a banquet for the teams.

The Viking's game against Babson starts at 4:30 pm, followed by Wisconsin Stevens Point against Virginia Wesleyan. The winners will meet on Saturday at 3 pm for the Division 3 national championship.
For fans unable to attend the game, Augustana is hosting a free "watch party" at the Carver Center, Friday at 4 p.m. Friday's game will also be streamed live on Augustana's website, and Saturday's game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
