Black Hawk College students can take 8-week online programs to earn certificates in manufacturing, dispensary, and cultivation work.
The certificates are not legally required to work in the field, but Program Coordinator Sean Yerkey says it could help someone get hired.
"All of our programs, all three of the programs, go over compliance and operations training, health and safety, and some regulations."
"So having that knowledge as well, I think, would help students be more confident if they were going to apply to one of the dispensaries in the area, or the cultivation plant in the area."
The curriculum is provided by a company called Green Flower.
