Student Hunger Drive is Underway

River Bend Food Bank

Nearly twenty high schools will face off again this year to see which one can collect the most food for people in need.

Students participating in the Student Hunger Drive will collect food in their neighborhoods, and at school. They'll also hold fundraisers to collect more money and food donations. At the end of the friendly competition, the River Bend Food Bank counts each haul at its warehouse, and gives out awards.

The River Bend Food Bank, and its 37th Student Hunger Drive provides food to people facing hunger in 23 counties in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.

It kicked off on on Oct. 2, and will end Nov. 9.
