Finalists for President of BHC

Three finalists have been chosen in the search for a new president of Black Hawk College.

Tuesday it announced campus interviews and public forums will be held later this month, and in April, for:

- Jeremy Thomas, Provost at Oklahoma City Community College in Oklahoma City,

- Todd Brand, Chief Academic Officer at Ashland Community and Technical College in Ashland, Kentucky,

- and Segwick Harris, Vice President of Administrative Affairs, at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Information about each is available on the college website, along with schedules for their campus visits.

The current president of Black Hawk College, Tim Wynes, will retire in May after serving the college for five years.

Black Hawk serves all or part of nine Illinois counties, with locations in Moline, East Moline, Rock Island, Galva, and Kewanee.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
