George Bishop was sentenced in Muscatine County District Court on Friday. The 45-year old was found guilty of multiple counts of felony sex abuse charges. Bishop will have to register as a sex offender.
Bishop has been in police custody for a year and a half. He was arrested after a minor reported the abuse to Muscatine County Sheriff's deputies at a hospital. The investigation showed Bishop abused the minor for several years.
The Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Muscatine Police Department, Iowa Department of Human Services, Mississippi Valley Child Protection Center and state crime lab.
