Presidential Candidate Coming to QC

Delaney for President

The first official candidate for president for the 2020 election will visit the Quad Cities and eastern Iowa this weekend. This will be the 5th trip to Iowa for Maryland Congressman and democrat John Delaney since announcing his candidacy last summer.

The trip starts Saturday morning when Delaney will meet with Scott County democrats at the Hickory Garden Restaurant in Davenport at 9 am.

His next stop will be in Muscatine at Elly's Tea and Coffee at 11 am, followed by stops in Wapello, Fort Madison, and Keosauqua. Then on Sunday, Delaney will meet with local democrats in Ottumwa, Pella, and Ankeny.

First elected to Congress in 2012, he calls himself "the only former CEO of a publicly traded company serving in the US House of Representatives."

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
