Next Phase SAU-Assumption Sports Complex

Assumption High School
the St. Vincent's Athletic Complex

Assumption High School and Saint Ambrose University in Davenport will take the next step in their joint effort to build new sports facilities. On Sunday afternoon, they'll hold a ground-breaking ceremony for phase 2 of the Saint Vincent's Athletic Complex.

Completed a couple of years ago, phase 1 included a new softball and practice fields, concession stand, and parking. Phase 2 will include a football and soccer field, with an all-weather track, bleachers, and a concession stand.

The cost will be 9 million dollars, and construction will take up to one year to complete.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
