Workers at two John Deere plants in the Quad Cities will soon lose their jobs. Tuesday the company announced indefinite layoffs for about 50 production workers at the Harvester Works in East Moline, and 113 at the Davenport Works.
Spokesman Ken Golden says the reason is "market conditions" - due to lower customer demand Deere has lowered its sales and income forecasts for this year.
The layoffs at the Harvester Works take effect October 28th, and in Davenport on November 18th.
No other Deere plants are affected.
