BHC Trustees Consider Tuition for Next Year

The cost to attend Black Hawk College may not change next year. Thursday night, the board of trustees will consider tuition for the fiscal year starting in July.

Chief Financial Officer Steve Frommelt will recommend keeping tuition for in-district students at 149 dollars per credit hour - for the fourth year in a row.

"The state's pulling their end, and then between the other regular operations of the college, we're able to keep tuition flat."

Following Thursday night's first reading for tuition, the board will hold a second and final reading next month.
Trustees will start working on next year's budget in May.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
