Our guests this week are Carols Barreto and Chris Woods from the Quad Cities Kayakers Group. Started in 2017 by Carlos Barreto, the Quad Cities Kayakers Group started off as a hand full of paddlers connecting over their love of paddle sports in the Quad Cities and has now grown to over 5,000 enthusiasts! Carols and Chris drop by to talk paddling and the Rock River Paddle Battle Sprints race from Cleveland to Moline.

Marc Zyla

Marc Zyla joined WVIK, Quad Cities NPR in May 2022 as the Director of Community Engagement. Prior to that Zyla had been the Director of Education and Community Engagement with the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, where he continues to perform as Principal Horn. Zyla believes that there is something for everyone in public radio and brings passion and creativity to his position as Director of Community Engagement.
