Joseph Leahy

Public radio journalist Joseph Leahy hosts NPR’s Morning Edition and anchors local newscasts every weekday on WVIK Quad Cities NPR. He previously anchored statewide newscasts for NPR’s first regional news hub, Texas Newsroom, which he helped launch in 2019.

Since 2012 Leahy has held similar roles at public radio stations across the US, including KUT in Austin, St. Louis Public Radio and Delaware First Media. He has also regularly reported freelance news and feature stories for national broadcasts on NPR.

Leahy holds a master’s degree in journalism from Emerson College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated high school in Northridge, California.

He is an avid cook, amateur artist, and world traveler.
