Dubuque and the Quad Cities are composting Christmas trees following the holiday season.

Residents of Dubuque can set out their Christmas trees on their regular trash collection day to be composted until January 17th.

The release states that all trees must have a city-issued brush tie or a yard waste sticker attached and visible. These are available for purchase at most grocery stores in Dubuque and City Hall, 50 W 13th Street.

Trees must be no larger than eight feet tall.

All ornaments, lights, and decorations must be removed from the trees before they are set out, and wreaths and garlands are not accepted.

Contact the Dubuque Public Works Department for more at 563-589-4250 or visit their website.

Davenport

The city of Davenport is offering free curbside Christmas tree collection until Friday, January 10th. Residents can set out their live trees on their regular solid waste collection day.

If you miss the deadline, Davenport officials say citizens may still drop their trees at
the Davenport Compost Facility at 2707 Railroad Street. For more information, visit their website.

Rock Island

Rock Island residents can also set out their Christmas trees for free pick-up until January 17th.

Officials say trees should be placed 3 feet away from garbage carts to ensure the collection of both carts and trees.

For more, visit the Rock Island Public Works website.

Moline

The city of Moline will continue its annual Christmas tree collection until the end of January.
