The city of Dubuque is asking its residents to complete a survey about its food recycling program, regardless of whether they participated.
The food recycling program has been around for several years and has more than five hundred customers. Food scraps are collected and transported to a composting facility where they’re turned into soil. The soil is then distributed for gardening and landscaping.
Customers pay one dollar per month and are given a thirteen-gallon cart to collect their scraps. Larger carts are available for an additional monthly fee.
The survey will let the City know about residents' interest in and knowledge of food scrap recycling. For more information, visit https://www.cityofdubuque.org/502/Yard-Waste-Food-Scraps
