Earl Hanson Elementary School will honor one of its former students on Monday, Sept. 30th, with a memorial "Buddy Bench" at 8:30 a.m. in front of the school.

Ten-year-old John Moo died on June 17th at Lake Potter in Rock Island in an accidental drowning. He was playing with three other kids at the time.

In a news release sent to the media, staff will pay tribute to Moo with speeches and visuals representing him. They ask attendees to wear blue to honor John Moo.

The release states Uncommon Ground, a landscaping company, helped assist in completing the memorial project.
