The city of Davenport is announcing that the city council is welcoming quadcitizen Doug Maxeiner as the new city administrator on Sept. 17th.

Maxeiner was the city administrator for East Moline from 2019 to 2023 and for the city of Moline from 2017 to 2019. He has worked in local government for the last 32 years.

In the press release sent by the city of Davenport, Maxeiner says, "I’m honored to be selected for the City Administrator position in Davenport and to join the exemplary staff of the City to serve the residents of this community. While we have many challenges to address, there are even more opportunities to pursue. I am eager to work with Mayor Matson, the City Council, staff and the community to make Davenport the best it can be.”

On September 25th, the City Council will vote to formally approve Maxeiner’s three-year employment contract during its regular meeting.

His first day will be Oct. 28th.
