This Saturday, September 14th, is the 6th annual Monarch Festival and 4th annual Monarch Migration Fun Run.
The self-timed 5k trail runs through the upland and bottomland forests and prairies. Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. with the first wave running at 9 a.m.
The Monarch Festival starts at 11 a.m. There will be a presentation on monarchs, followed by crafts, games, education stations, monarch catching, and more. At 2:30 p.m., there will be a showing of MOVED BY WATERS.
The festival is free for everyone to attend. Registration for the Fun Run costs $30 per adult and $25 per child. To sign up, go to getmeregistered.com/MonarchMigrationFunRun.
The fun run will be at the Wapsi River Environmental Education Center, 31555 52nd Ave, Dixon, IA.
