Suspected Mother of Baby April Pleads Not Guilty

Moline Police Department

A woman accused of murder for the death of her baby 28 years ago, has pleaded not guilty. 47 year old Angela Siebke appeared by video in court in Rock Island Tuesday.
Formerly from Orion and now living in Ohio, she was arrested earlier this month after police used DNA from the baby, known as Baby April, to identify her as a suspect. In 1992, the body of a female infant was found in a trash bag in the Mississippi River, near 17th Street in downtown Moline.

She was named Baby April and buried in Riverside Cemetery.
Siebke's next hearing is set for late in January, with a tentative trial date in February.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
