McReynolds Swearing In

14th Judicial Circuit

After serving for 30 years, an associate judge in Henry County will be promoted to Resident Circuit Judge. Wednesday morning in Cambridge, Dana McReynolds will be sworn in, and take the place of Jeffrey O'Connor who retired in July.

The appointment officially takes effect on Monday (8/31), and continues through December, 2022. And he'll be sworn in by Illinois Supreme Court Justice Thomas Kilbride.

McReynolds first worked in private practice in Kewanee then served for 13 years as the Henry County Public Defender, before becoming an associate judge in 1990.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
