New Chief Judge for 14th Circuit

14th Judicial Circuit

Judges in Illinois' 14th Judicial Circuit have chosen a new leader. Friday they elected Frank Fuhr to be the new chief judge.

He replaces Walter Braud who stepped down earlier this week.

Fuhr will serve as chief judge through the end of next year, for the circuit which includes Henry, Mercer, Rock Island, and Whiteside counties.

He was first appointed to be an associate judge in 2008, and became a circuit judge two years later.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
