Arrests for Davenport Fatal Shooting

A second man is now suspected of killing a Davenport woman last spring during an armed robbery. Monday,  Davenport police issued a warrant for 26 year old Arthur Lobley of Rock Island - for first degree murder, armed robbery, and intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

On Saturday, police arrested his possible co-defendant, 18 year old Craig Coleman of Rock Island, for the same charges.

They're suspected of fatally shooting 19 year old Destiny Orr-Clark of Davenport on May 4th. That's when officers, responding to a report of shots fired, found Orr-Clark, wounded and in a car in the 1,000 block of East 36th Street. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say she was wounded when she tried to drive away, and the defendants followed, firing a handgun several times.

Coleman was arrested Saturday in Rock Island, while Lobley is currently being held at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility, on an un-related charge.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
