Three Charged With Moline Murder

Moline Police Department

Charges have been filed against three people for the fatal shooting of a Moline man. On December 9th, police responded to a call of shots fired, and found 31 year old William Fowler at a home in the 400 block of 8th Street. He died later at a hospital in Iowa City.

Friday Moline police announced first degree murder charges have been filed against 29 year old Nathan Luten of Silvis, 17 year old Rory Bruno of Colona, and a 15 year old juvenile from East Moline.
Bond has been set for 2 million dollars for each of the three.

Officers blame conflicts between gangs for Fowler's death, but say he was not the target, and had no link to any of the people involved.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
