A member of the Bettendorf city council has died. Debe LaMar was 61 years old and had represented the third ward for ten years.
City officials say LaMar died Thursday after a battle with cancer.
LaMar served under three different mayors, and served as Mayor Pro-tem for seven years. The splash pad in Lincoln Park was dedicated to her last summer.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
