New signs have been put up at the entrances to the Rock Island Arsenal. Earlier this month the old ones saying, "Home of Army Logistics" were replaced by "Rock Island Arsenal: Producing Army Readiness since 1862."
The signs were changed two months ago, and unveiled on Friday (10/19).
The senior commander at the Arsenal, Major General Duane Gamble says "As one of the first things people see as they enter or drive by the Rock Island Arsenal, we wanted to be sure everyone knows what we do on the island every day." And that the various organizations based on the island all have the same overall mission "produce Army readiness."
