RR Days Shots Fired Suspect Arrested

Galesburg Police Department

A tip to Crime Stoppers has led to the arrest of a suspect in the weekend shooting during Railroad Days in Galesburg. The police department says 18 year old Latrell Patterson was arrested Monday night at a home in Galesburg.

He's charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Saturday night, someone fired two shots in the carnival area of the annual festival, but there were no injuries.
Patterson is being held at the Knox County Jail with his first court appearance set for Wednesday.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
