tonight's headlines:

  • the interim Moline police chief may get the job on a permanent basis,
  • a federal judge in Davenport hears a religious freedom case from the U. of Iowa,
  • and the U. of Illinois will freeze in-state tuition for the 4th year in a row.

Mostly clear tonight with a low around 22. Sunny on Friday, with a high near 43.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
