- Quad Citians gathered on the Centennial Bridge Sunday night to show solidarity with counter-protestors of a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia that turned deadly over the weekend. But even before the events in Charlottesville, the group One Human Family QCA organized a No Hate Rally in response to flyers distributed in the area by neo-Nazi group, National Alliance.
- The Iowa Board of Regents' Tuition Task Force is holding a third public meeting Monday at the University of Iowa, after hearing from the state's two other public universities.
- The Illinois State Senate spent Sunday in session. Senators voted 38 to 19 tooverride Governor Bruce Rauner's amendatory vetoof the new school funding bill.
