Lynyrd Skynyrd has canceled its performance this week at the Mississippi Valley Fair.

According to a poston the band's Facebook page, the Thursday performance was canceled due to an unforeseen medical emergency by a band member.

The fair's General Manager Shawn Loter says he found out about the cancelation yesterday afternoon, and they were able to book another artist within a half hour.

Now, Vince Neil, the lead vocalist of Motley Crue  will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday on the fair's grandstand stage.

Loter says the fair will not refund tickets.

"A lot of people did purchase them to see Lynyrd Skynyrd and it's unfortunate that they can't play, but Vince Neil's going to put on a really good show," Loter says. "I've actually had a higher response than Lynyrd Skynyrd for Vince Neil, so I think we'll have a really good turnout for him."

Other musicians and bands performing at the Mississippi Valley Fair this week include Tyler Farr Wednesday night, Brett Eldgredge on Friday, John Mellencamp on Saturday and Randy Houser on Sunday.
