Union Leaders Rally for Fair Contract, State Budget

Rallies for Fairness

Local union leaders are expecting one of the "largest labor rallies" ever in the Quad Cities. Tonight, community groups, public service workers, and legislators will rally in Rock Island, urging Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner to pass a fair state budget and sign union contracts.

President of the Quad Cities Federation of Labor, Dino Leone, says before passing a budget, Rauner is pushing his own policies on legislators.
But, Leone says service agencies are suffering the most, unable to serve child abuse victims, people with disabilities, and veterans. State Senator David Koehler, State Representative Mike Smiddy, and other officials will urge the governor to consider the people being affected by the budget impasse.
