After months of planning and public meetings, Davenport could change when and where residents use public transportation. Tonight, the city council will take a final vote on proposed route changes for CitiBus.
The changes include eliminating some routes with low ridership, merging routes to cut down on transfers, and realigning routes along Locust Street. CitiBus would also add cross-town routes, extend weekday service to 7 pm, and add full Sunday service.
Bus fares would not increase, but some residents would have a longer walk to bus stops.
If approved tonight, Davenport would implement the changes by next July (2016).
