Silvis Fire Chief David Leibovitz says he was the first to respond to the fire at 3:30 pm yesterday. And, at least eleven local departments worked for three hours to help put out the fire, partly because the city was running low on its water supply.

Leibovitz now estimates the damage amounts at one-million-dollars, or more. And, people were inside the building when the fire broke out, but no one was hurt.

Anchor Lumber has sold building materials since the 1960s, and has operated the store on 1st Avenue in Silvis since 1984.
