A Rock Island man faces a key decision - whether to testify at his own murder trial. After a two week recess, the defense is scheduled to begin presenting its case Tuesday for 40 year old Timothy McVay.
Last week, defense lawyers announced their witness list, and only McVay's name was on it. Still, he's not required to testify, or present any witnesses.
He's charged with first degree murder and concealment of a homicide for the death of 29 year old Carrie Olson of Davenport. She was last seen in December 2013, and her body was found hear Hastings Minnesota about 3 months later.
If McVay does decide to take the stand, his lawyers will first present their opening statement - if not then both sides will begin presenting their closing arguments.
The case is being heard by circuit judge, Michael Meersman.
