For the first time, democrats from Iowa who aren't in the state for the caucuses will be able to participate. On Tuesday, the Iowa Democratic Party announced the details of its first Tele-Caucus.

Chairwoman Andy McGuire says many voters have been left out of the Iowa caucuses for decades. They include military personnel, their families, students, and other Iowans who happen to be out of the state or country on caucus night. So this year, the party hired a specialized telephone service.

Ashleigh Bull is a junior at Grinnell College and will be in Denmark during the Iowa caucuses.
Those who qualify under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act may register for the tele-caucus at the Iowa Democratic Party website. It will verify that they're members of the Iowa Democratic Party and registered to vote. And the deadline to sign up is January 6th.
