Jacobs for State Representative

jeff jacobs

One day after Pat Verschoore announced his retirement from the Illinois House, another democrat has stepped forward to take his place. Today Moline attorney Jeff Jacobs announced his candidacy for state representative from the 72nd District.

Verschoore, from Milan, has represented the district for 12 years, and will retire at the end of next year (2016).

Jacobs graduated from Alleman High School, and attended law school in Chicago, and is now a partner in the law firm of Bozeman, Neighbour, Patton, and Noe.
In his announcement he says, " We have a true fight on our hands with a governor who demeans and diminishes the impact that working people have on our way of life here in Illinois. I grew up in a union household, and I'm proud of the work my mom did as a public high school teacher in Rock Island, and no one should denigrate that work."
So far one republican is running for the 72nd District seat - Milan resident Brandi McGuire announced her candidacy earlier this month.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
