Christie Visits QC

Christie For President

The Quad Cities and eastern Iowa are on the itinerary for Chris Christie this weekend. The New Jersey governor and republican candidate for president has scheduled stops in Davenport and Clinton, plus Des Moines and Ankeny.

Today at noon, Christie will hold a town hall meeting at the Jersey Grille restaurant in Davenport, followed by a visit to the downtown Davenport Street Fest that's part of the Bix and RAGBRAI weekend - that's scheduled for 2:45.

He next travels to Camanche for the Clinton County GOP Hog Roast, at 6 pm at the Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center.

Saturday, the candidate will first visit the Des Moines Farmers Market then host a town hall meeting in Ankeny.
His final public stop of this trip to Iowa will be Saturday night at the Italian American Heritage Festival of Iowa in Des Moines.

On Monday he travels to New Hampshire to campaign.
The Governor will travel back to Iowa July 31st and August 1st, with details to be announced later.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
