Graham Campaigns in QC

WVIK Staff

One of the newest candidates for president introduced himself to Iowa Saturday. Several days after announcing he's in the race for the republican nomination, South Carolina US Senator Lindsey Graham kicked off his first visit to the state with a stop in Bettendorf.

Speaking to the Iowa VFW Convention, he told them we're at war with Radical Islam, people he calls "religious Nazis."
To fight this threat, Graham says we can't afford to cut defense spending. Americans may be war weary, but he thinks we can't be too weary to defend the nation.

The other major threat is debt. The senator says Americans must be willing to make sacrifices to save important programs like Social Security and Medicare.

Lindsey Graham talks to the QC news media.

I'm willing to give up some of my benefits for people who need it more.

A bi-partisan plan preserved Social Security 40 years ago, and that's what's needed now, including a means test for benefits and raising the retirement age.
