New Commander for ASC

Major General Christopher Mohan
Major General Christopher Mohan

A new commanding general has been chosen for the Army Sustainment Command, based on Arsenal Island.

Tuesday Major General Christopher Mohan will take over, after Major General Daniel Mitchell retired last month.

The Assumption of Command ceremony is set for 3:30 pm.

Mohan was first commissioned as an officer in 1989, and most recently served in Germany as commanding general of the 21st Theater Support Command.

He will be the 11th commanding general of the ASC since it was established in 2006.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
