New Leader for Scott County Board

Scott County Board of Supervisors

A new chair will lead the Scott County Board of Supervisors this year. Monday morning during their annual organizational meeting, members elected Ken Beck to serve as chair for the first time after three years as vice-chair.

He succeeds Tony Knobbe who led the board for three years.
The third Republican on the five member board, John Maxwell, will serve as vice-chair, for the first time.
The two Democrats are Ken Croken and Brinson Kinzer.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
