Bustos Gets Top Committee

Another promotion for Cheri Bustos. The 17th District Congresswoman from Moline has been chosen to serve on the Appropriations Committee, one of the most powerful committees in the House.

It's responsible for funding the full scope of federal programs. But it's an "exclusive committee" meaning Bustos will have to give up her seats on the Agriculture and Transportation and Infrastructure committees.

Now beginning her 4th term in the House, she was recently elected to the party's senior leadership team, and chosen to lead the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee - to recruit new candidates for the House and help current members get re-elected.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
